We've Launched a Dedicated Kuala Selangor Fireflies Site — Book Direct
Our fireflies and blue tears evening tour now has its own home. Honest sighting guidance, both rivers compared, and direct booking with the licensed operator.
We have run the Kuala Selangor fireflies evening for years as one line on a much larger tour company’s website. As of this month it has a home of its own.
This is that home. Same vehicle, same guides, same licence. What is new is the space to explain the evening properly instead of compressing it into a product listing.
Why we built a separate site
Two reasons, both practical.
The first is honesty about sightings. The fireflies depend on moon phase and rain, and the blue tears depend on a plankton bloom that comes and goes. On a general tour page there is no room to say that clearly, so it ends up as small print, and small print gets skipped. Here it gets a whole section, before the booking widget rather than after it.
The second is the two rivers. Kuala Selangor has two firefly operations, and travellers arrive genuinely confused about which one to visit, largely because most pages online only describe the one that particular operator uses.

Both rivers, written up fairly
Kampung Kuantan uses quiet non-motorised sampans. Firefly Park Resort at Bukit Belimbing uses covered electric boats that are easier to board. We describe both, including the one our shared tour does not use.
What is on the site now
Seven guides covering the two rivers, the blue tears, Bukit Melawati, ticket prices, the best time to visit, and the self-drive versus guided-tour question. One tour page carrying both products with a full private-versus-shared comparison. Every price in one place rather than scattered across pages that drift out of date.
The tour page also lists the booking facts as plain text, above the checkout widget: departure times, durations, boat types, pickup radius, what is included and what is not. You can read all of it before anything asks you for a card.
Booking direct
Both products, private and shared, check out on this site through Bokun. That means you are dealing with the company that owns the vehicle and employs the guide, not a reseller passing your booking down a chain.
If something changes on the night, the person sorting it out is the person you booked with. That is the entire argument for booking direct, and it is a better one than any discount.
