Tickets & Prices — Kuala Selangor Fireflies

One page for every firefly cost: independent boat tickets at both parks, and both tour prices for the private and shared evening tours.

Every firefly cost, on one page

This is the only page on the site that carries prices. Everything else about the Kuala Selangor fireflies links here, which means you are not comparing a number on one page against a different number on another.

Two kinds of cost exist. There is the boat ticket you buy at a jetty if you drive yourself, and there is the all-in price of a guided evening. They are not comparable line for line, and the rest of this page explains why. If you already know which you want, you can go straight to book the fireflies tour.

What the tour price covers

A licensed English-speaking driver-guide, an air-conditioned vehicle, hotel pickup and drop-off inside the stated radius, the seafood dinner, the firefly cruise boat ticket and the Bukit Melawati stop. All of it is one payment at checkout.

Independent boat tickets

If you drive yourself, you buy the boat ticket at the park. Boat prices at Kampung Kuantan and at Firefly Park Resort are set by the parks, they differ between the two, and they are revised from time to time.

We publish those figures here once we have verified them directly, and not before. Quoting a number we have not checked would put a wrong price in front of you at a jetty at nine at night, which helps nobody. Until the verified figures are on this page, confirm the current rate at the ticket counter or by phoning the park before you set out.

What we can tell you honestly is the shape of it. The boat alone is the cheapest way to see the fireflies. It is also only the boat.

What is not included

Neither tour includes travel insurance or personal expenses. Monkey feeding beans at Bukit Melawati are sold locally for roughly RM 2 to RM 5, and are not part of the price.

Pickup outside the stated radius is the one variable worth checking before you book. For the private tour the radius is 5 km from the Twin Towers, for the shared tour 3 km. Outside it, there is either a surcharge or you can meet the group at Corus Hotel Kuala Lumpur at no extra cost. Message us with your hotel name and we will tell you which applies.

The gap narrows once you add fuel, tolls, parking, dinner and the value of not driving. It does not close entirely, and we would rather say so. If cost is the deciding factor and you are comfortable driving at night, going independently is a legitimate choice.

A note on prices and conditions

All prices on this page are in Malaysian ringgit and are the published rates at the time of writing. The final figure is confirmed at checkout.

One thing no price can buy is the display itself. Firefly density varies with moon phase and rain, and blue tears are seasonal and never guaranteed. You are paying for a well-run evening on a river, not for a guaranteed spectacle.

Questions people ask

How much is the Kuala Selangor fireflies tour?

The private tour is RM 270 per person for 2 to 3 pax, RM 220 for 4 to 5, RM 200 for 6 to 7 and RM 180 at 8 or more, with children 3 to 11 at RM 180. The shared tour is RM 242 per adult and RM 165 per child aged 3 to 11. Dinner and boat tickets are included in both.

How much is the boat if I go independently?

Independent boat prices differ between Kampung Kuantan and Bukit Belimbing and are set by the parks, not by us. We publish verified figures on this page rather than quote numbers we have not checked, so treat any figure you see elsewhere as needing confirmation at the jetty.

What's included in the tour price?

A licensed English-speaking driver-guide, an air-conditioned vehicle, hotel pickup and drop-off inside the stated radius, the seafood dinner, the boat ticket for the firefly cruise and the Bukit Melawati stop. Travel insurance and personal expenses are excluded.
